«NO 19»
FOLK-05 catalogue # 18: Installation at Nordberg
Fortress

Nordberg Fortress was built by German troops in 1942. Barrack no 19
has been turned into an installation with the 12 meters long and 1.2
meter narrow hallway as it´s centre. A wood contruction divides the
room lengthwise. A mirror at the far end reflectes the hallway. Again
the manipulation of the visual perception makes the visiter step more
carefully. The wooden construction obstructs the opening of doors into
the adjacent rooms and thus let the light play carefully in the
hallway.
Thanks to helpers, the workers at Nordberg Fortress

«MEMORY»
FOLK-05 catalogue # 14:Landart at Verevågen (by the village Stave):
About 1000 tree stumps have been painted white with lime in a clearcut the size of a soccer field. The various sized cut surfaces reflect the light from the sky and make the visiter step carefully on the path because the visual perception might be slightly disturbed. In a fruit garden the wounds of the cut branches are often disinfected by lime to protect the trees. Painting the tree stumps one by one felt like an act of healing at some battlefield.
Thanks to helpers, friends and colleagues + owner of the field.
